Inside New York Bridal Fashion Week

Inside New York Bridal Fashion Week

Earlier this October, our team packed our bags and headed to Manhattan for one of the most anticipated bridal events: New York Bridal Fashion Week (NYBFW).

Between attending showroom presentations, sitting front row at the runway, and soaking in the electric autumn energy of NYC, our mission remained clear: scout the freshest bridal trends and curate the most breathtaking wedding dresses for our brides back home at The Bridal Room.

Every season brings something magical, but this October felt distinctly transformative. We saw designers redefine traditional bridal silhouettes, embrace intricate architectural draping, and elevate customizable day-to-night styling. Above all, our visits with three of our absolute favorite designers—Kelly Faetanini, Trish Peng, and Lé Lee Studio—left us utterly inspired.

Here is an exclusive behind-the-scenes recap of our trip to NYBFW, the major wedding dress trends taking over the upcoming seasons, and an inside look at the designer collections we adore. It is always so special to meet with these designers and connect over the shared love of bridal beauty!

1. Kelly Faetanini: Timeless Romance Meets Structural Grandeur

Stepping into the Kelly Faetanini showroom is always a highlight of our market trip. Known for her impeccable corsetry, customizable elements, and signature blend of classic romance and modern drama, Kelly Faetanini consistently delivers gowns that fit like an absolute dream.

What Caught Our Eye

  • The Haute Halter Neckline: One of the most unforgettable moments in the showroom was Kelly’s fresh take on the halter neckline, marrying vintage Hollywood glamour with modern, red-carpet sophistication. By beautifully framing the collarbones and elongating the neck, these high-cut designs brought a statuesque elegance to the runway. Whether styled with an open back or soft ruching around the throat, it felt boldly confident and utterly chic.

  • Decadent, Ultra-Luxe Fabrics: The textiles Kelly chose this season took every silhouette to the next level of luxury. From liquid silk satin that draped like water to heavy, luminous mikado and dimensional floral jacquards, the quality was palpable. The sheer richness of these tactile fabrics gave every gown an opulent, couture presence that moves effortlessly while holding its sculpted shape.

Kelly Faetanini understands how a dress should feel on the body just as much as how it looks in photos. We cannot wait to see our brides step into these sculptural masterpieces!

2. Trish Peng: Clean Lines, Elevated Tailoring, and Effortless Chic

Hailing from New Zealand, Trish Peng brings a vibrant, effortlessly sophisticated perspective to the bridal world. Trish’s latest showcase proved once again why she is one of the most sought-after contemporary bridal designers.

What Caught Our Eye

  • Tailored Simplicity with an Edge: Clean, minimalist bridal fashion remains a massive trend, but Trish Peng elevates it with subtle architectural details. Think fluid French crepes, luminous stretch mikado, and precisely sculpted drop waists.
  • Chic Texture & Contemporary Accents: We swooned over the clever fusion of vintage elements reimagined for the modern aesthetic—particularly soft bubble hems, asymmetrical ruched bodices, and sculpted off-the-shoulder straps.

For the bride who wants understated luxury with a bold, fashion-forward twist, Trish Peng’s newest collection hits every single note.

3. Lé Lee Studio: Ethereal Textures and Lace

Our visit with Australian label Lé Lee Studio was pure poetry. Famed for their dreamy aesthetic that balances delicate lace, gossamer fabrics, and couture-level sparkle, Lé Lee Studio delivered an unforgettable collection at market.

What Caught Our Eye

  • Dimensional Corded Laces with Celestial Beadwork: Lé Lee Studio elevated traditional lace artistry into something entirely fresh, tactile, and multidimensional. The collection leaned into heirloom-quality corded laces, giving modern romance an opulent, high-definition upgrade.
  • Layered Chantilly and Gossamer Underlays: Rather than treating lace as a flat overlay, the designers mastered the art of optical depth. Whisper-thin French Chantilly lace was placed beneath airy layers of gossamer tulle and sheer organza, creating a soft, filtered aesthetic that felt ethereal as brides walked. This peek-a-boo technique added a dreamy softness to structured corsetry without ever feeling heavy or overwhelming.
  • Botanical Motifs Cascading into Dramatic Trains: The lace placement this season felt intentional, organic, and effortlessly fluid. Sculpted leaf and floral appliqués originated at the bodice, trickling down the hips and expanding into sweeping, cathedral-length lace-scalloped trains. It created an elongated, vine-like flow that transforms a classic lace wedding dress into an absolute visual masterpiece for the walk down the aisle.

Lé Lee Studio captures romance in its purest form, and we know our brides will fall head over heels for these new arrivals!

The Top Bridal Trends We Spotted Across New York Bridal Fashion Week

Attending NYBFW gives us a front-row seat to the macro trends shaping weddings over the next two years. If you are starting your bridal shopping journey, keep an eye out for these standout elements:

1. Basque & Drop Waist Corsetry

The romantic, Victorian-inspired V-shaped basque waist and low drop waist are still the reigning silhouettes of the season. They create an elongated, sculpted torso that feels equal parts regal and contemporary.

2. Draped Bodices & Asymmetrical Necklines

Gone are the days of plain strapless cuts. We saw designers across the board lean into soft fabric manipulations—pleated chiffons, gathered silk mikado, and folded cowl necklines that bring dynamic artistry to the décolletage.

3. Multi-Look Wedding Dresses (Versatility is Key)

Brides love a wardrobe change, but you don't necessarily need three separate dresses. The runways were full of modular design: detachable puff sleeves, sheer overskirts, removable mock-neck lace jackets, and statement trains that allow you to transition from a classic church ceremony to a party-ready reception silhouette.

4. Textural Florals & 3D Botanical Appliqués

From laser-cut organza blossoms to cascading vines embroidered with pearls, botanical motifs continue to evolve. Instead of flat lace, designers are layering dimensional blooms that pop against airy illusion tulle.
